Dinosaurs on Skye!

Unless you've been under a rock recently you can't fail to have heard about the recent discovery of around 50 footprints at Rubha nam Brathairean, or Brothers’ Point, on the Isle of Skye.

The prints, some as big as a car tyre, were discovered by the same team who found evidence of dinosaurs on Skye back in 2015 and show the tracks of some Brontosaurus-type sauropods but also from some meat-eating theropods, a distant relative of a of the T-Rex.

This find is significant  because it shows that dinosaurs weren't always charging about but also liked to lounge around in lagoons.

If you're looking for a base to discover all things dinosaur, the Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel Inverness is just 3 hours drive from Skye. Come and enjoy some Highland hospitality, catering for both veggie-sauruses and meat-eaters in our award-winning Contrast Brasserie, with a fine selection of malt whiskies and a great nights sleep guaranteed in our comfy bedrooms, they're the tricera-tops..!
